The Distribution Center Team Leader will execute the functions of daily operations requirements and ensure resources are meeting safety, productivity, accuracy, and service goals. Provide leadership to associates. At Bealls, a high value is placed on creating an environment that fosters teamwork, cross functional communication, personal growth and accountability. The Team Leader must demonstrate and promote this each day.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide hands on the job leadership to associates.
  • Maintain workplace safety standards in a clean and orderly environment.
  • Ensuring associates understand what is expected in regards to measures and counter measures goals
  • Motivate and modeling through actions to stimulate a positive work environment and openly challenges policies and procedures that are not intended to elevate the level of performance.
  • Ensure that established operating procedures are followed for all department functions and processesAdminister company policies and practices, and ensure compliance.
  • Administer company established discipline procedures for policy violations.
  • Perform administrative duties such as time keeping, attendance calendars, performance reviews and associate’s forms in an accurately and timely manner
  • Provide first level support and follow-up for associate suggestions, complaints and concerns.
  • Responsible for people and team development, ensuring adequate training of department employees.
  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short & long term performance goals.
  • Engage cross-functionally with business partners to assist team to solve operational issues using company’s established problem solving practices. Support Group Leaders in Kronos, Performance Reviews and Corrective Actions.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc).
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., necessary to move cartons of merchandise
  • Must stand on feet 85% of day

Qualifications

  • High school diploma as a minimum education degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience or in a leadership role.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in employee relations.
  • Multidisciplinary experience (i.e. operations, logistics, retail, supply chain, transportation, and distribution) is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate logically and clearly in a group or individual setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements
  • Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.
