Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) for Bealls/Burkes Outlet Stores

 

We strive to hire the best and brightest as we expand and open new stores, adding new DMM’s to our existing team. If you are interested, you must be adaptable, hungry, motivated and intellectually curious… As a DMM with our organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing a profitable merchandising strategy for assigned divisions in concert with the overall strategy of the brand, as well as coordinating the buying and assortment process from initial concept to timely store delivery.

 

As a DMM, you will need to partner with your GMM to establish a strategy for the division and create a course of action to capitalize in both the short and long term, partner with your buyers and planning teams in order to ensure strategy is executed, encompassing the overall brand initiatives, partner with the VP of Planning & Allocation to develop seasonal plans that buyers will use to guide them financially, work with your buyers to develop product assortments that maximize trends, while also targeting value for our customer, in addition to coaching your buyers in artfully working with vendors in order to procure timely and profitable buys. You will also need to ensure execution of divisional goals by interacting frequently and meaningfully with Stores, Marketing, and the Planning & Allocation teams.

 

You will lead a team and need to motivate, engage and inspire as well as provide leadership and training to others. Do you have a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of DMM experience, preferably in department store or off price? DMM experience can come from a variety of categories… Bealls is willing to train you as long as you have the desire, willingness and enthusiasm. Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Do you understand the market; know what is on trend today and for next season? Can you forecast for upcoming trend, do you shop the competition, have had success leading a team and managing a business?
