Overview

FUNCTION OF THE JOB

The Transportation Management Systems Analyst will execute the functions of data analysis and the development and recommendation of process improvements, metrics measurement, and cost savings.  Using numerous analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, improve and control Transportation operations and business workflows. Responsibilities

 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Essential Functions):

  • Create, audit & analyze reports to support business execution (performance scorecards & KPI’s, perform trend analysis, and host regular meetings to review performance and continuous improvement).
  • Ensure TMS Data integrity and maintenance (procurement, planning, optimizing, execution, freight bill auditing, settlements, reporting and analysis).
  • Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis and/or problem analysis; while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
  • Supports several key projects including Dynamic Routing, Speed vs Static Process, Cross-Dock utilization, and Consolidation Break point analysis.
  • Develop team to solve day-today issues by mentoring/coaching clerks in daily work tasks, ad-hoc projects & analysis.
  • Supports the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs.
  • Develops and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models (identify optimal scenarios, and assess impact to baseline cost structure).
  • Complete other projects and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills necessary to accurately record data reports & metrics.
  • Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc.).
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree as a minimum education degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in analysis and data management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate logically and clearly in a group or individual setting.
  • Goal oriented and customer focused
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.
  • Multidisciplinary experience (i.e. operations, logistics, retail, supply chain, transportation, and distribution) is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements
